A BUSY APRIL

April may be the busiest month of my year. Seems like there is something going on most days of the month. I know that we are supposed to be springing forth and blooming, I pray I have the energy to get everything done! If your view of the month is similar, then we are on the same page. Once we get through Holy Week with Maundy Thursday offering a shared meal and worship experience (6:00). Good Friday, which offers us a chance to worship together in an ecumenical way with our friends at the Methodist church (7:00) for a Tenebrae service remembering Jesus’ last hours before his death. It is a very meaningful service that I hope you can share with our sisters and brothers in Christ. Easter morning we will wake up to  breakfast prepared by the Men of the Church (8:30), and an egg hunt following worship and Sunday School.

Then we will be back in the swing of things as we resume our usual schedule of activities and mission work. There is a place for you to be involved if you have interest in spending time with members of our congregation and the greater community. There are going to be new activities starting up in April and we are offering a New Member Class on April 19th following worship. Come join us for a conversation about who we are and how you might find a renewed meaning in your life as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Glenwood Springs.

Some of you already know that Carolyn will be traveling in Europe for some time with friends as well as practicing her singing with a couple different groups. I serve on the Nominating Committee for the General Assembly of the PCUSA, we will be meeting at the end of April or the beginning of May so I will be traveling also. Both of us are happy to tell you all about our trips so just ask. Watch this space and our website for more information as the month progresses. Keep your feet under you or you might be swept away by the exciting activities happening in April.

You are blessed!

Bruce
